Fool By Love

Fool by Love
by Erica Richards
She comes home battered and bruised
Shes down and out confused
How could a person she had loved
Take her delicate heart to misuse
He constantly said "you're the one for me"
And she had fell too deeply to see
The thoughtless monster
He would soon turn out to be

You'd think one more hospital visit would do it
No more punches, no more hits
But she comes home to the same old man
One more lousy drink, one more door slam
Shes blinded by the bitter bliss
But how could you love a person that does this

She finally threatens to leave and get wise
He said he'll change, just another one of his lies
He said his anger problem will go away
And he pleads for her to stay
But why she stayed, no one knows
This abusive life is what she had

This Poem is a powerful message to what a lot of women are dealing with in this world. Love make a peson blind. He will tell her that he love her to death , that he can't live without her, That her belong to him only. those Phrases should give a woman the Red alert. My life only belog to God and myself. No one has the power to control it. It  easy for a woman to fall in love fast, and this can lead to trouble.

This poem shows how Stupid women are. He hits her, rapes her, and gives her bruises. And still she stays with him because of the Phrases "i am sorry" and "i love you." He is taking advantage of her sensible, forgiving, and loving heart to keep her from freeing herself from the devil that he is. No Matter what he has done to her, she will still go back to him. Why do we love them so much that we have to take their punches and kicks? Why can't we learn to find confort in a free and single life? Is it because we depend on men's harm to be on us with either a loving or roughing touch????

  1. Dang. This poem is powerful. It really captures the emotions an abused woman goes through. Sadly, abusive relationship are becoming more and more common so it’s safe to say that most people who read this poem can relate to it because they or someone they know have been in an abusive relationship. It’s sad in most situations these people can’t get out of the relationship because they feel like they are so in love and aren’t strong enough to leave and just like the woman in this poem, the relationship ends in a tragically deadly way.

  2. I completely agree with both you and colby! this poem is really deep, it show how this lady is truely feeling. So many women these days get caught up in a abusive relationship without realizing it until its to late, and feel afraid that if they speak up and say something about the abuse that they will love the man who "loves" them. Honestly, i think if the man really loved them, he wouldnt be abusive in the first place... 'nuff said.
